As I stood in the kitchen of my childhood home in Jersey City, marker in hand creating murals of mess along our wallpapered walls, my mother a room away getting ready for a long day of work, my father already at the firehouse; you think initially this toddlers in a world of trouble. For us, however, this was routine. From a young age I was taught the world was my canvas, if it wasn’t life threatening, I was doing it. Whether it was my murals each morning that mother would scrub away each night, my crazy concoctions of bread and ketchup sandwiches for lunch, or my mini ice skating routines at the local high school. I was just constantly creating.
To continue my creative journey, in 2011 I followed in my family’s footsteps and began attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. Each day brought new creations, and in June of 2013 I received my Associates Degree in Communication Design. That fall I began the Packaging Design BFA. Eager to begin, I challenged myself with a summer internship sophomore year at Anthem Worldwide and have been there ever since. I embarked on the Global Perspectives for Packaging Design course that took me to London and Paris. There I learned the practices of design firms abroad as well as versed myself on European design styles on the retail shelves. I have learned so much about design and my passion to create has only grown more and more with each experience. I would like to thank anyone who made this journey possible and influenced me along the way.
